Welcome to the 2012 version of the Connecticut Walk the Walk Roundup website. Our updated website has a new fresh look and a lot of new content and features to be explored. In particular, be sure to visit the Resources section of the site. For your convenience, we've provided information on Alcoholics Anonymous and the Al-Anon Family Groups in Connecticut including a list of all the GLBT meetings across the state and information on all the GLBT Recovery Roundups of which we know in North America. Perhaps this year, you'll bring your recovery beyond Connecticut, Provincetown or Miami to some other neck of the woods. When you do, be sure to mention the Connecticut Roundup. We've created a flyer you can download and pass out to any and all recovery folk, friends and family who might want to attend our Roundup in August or some other Roundup event.

We've planned our first fundraising event of the year. NO BOOS will be a Fall celebration with an Italian buffet featuring live jazz on October 29, 2011 at 6pm. The event will be held in Hartford's Little Italy. It is on Halloween weekend, so, of course, we'll be giving out a prize for the best costume. And, we promise some great desserts.

Finally, and most important, the Roundup Committee is looking for new members and new volunteers. The Roundup is a community event and ideally, we'd like every gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender person in recovery in Connecticut to help in some way - small or large - to make the event happen. We welcome those who are ambitious and have the time to come to our next Roundup Committee meeting on October 16, 2011 and join the committee. If you're not able to do so, perhaps you'd be able to volunteer your time helping to create a single event or with a small component of the Roundup. You might like to serve as a liason between the Roundup and your recovery home group - making announcements and passing out flyers. Or perhaps, you'd like to help out contributing where most of us learned of the benefits of service and help us make coffee.
